"Worth Gaining"

Mark 8:36 – "What good is it for someone to gain the whole world but forfeit their soul?”

Gain the whole world but loose our soul. That is a really good question that Christian need to ask themselves .  Do we really want to sell our soul to this world. Our soul which our Heavenly Father sacrificed His life because he loved us. Our soul is how we make descisions on this earth, it is our conscience.

Our soul is something that will come with me to Heaven, my body and the things of this world will turn to dust when we are gone.

The world and worldly things belong to Satan. The world and things of the world are like sand or dust. When you pick up sand you can contain it in your hand only for a little while. But slowly it will slip away and fade. You see the world does not stay with us forever there are many ways to loose it. For example war, hatred, anger, coveting, and death. So what is their to gain of this world, nothing. We are here which is only for a season. We are here to serve God and lead people to the cross, we are here to show Christ’s love, mercy, grace. We are to be Christ like examples.

Matthew 16.19-24 “ Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy and where thieves and break in and steal. For where your treasure is , there your heart will be also.”

There is nothing in this world to gain. Our soul is a gift from God which last forever. That is a possession which everyone wants to gain and to hold onto for the rest of their lives.

" Setting Your Heart Right "

Mark 8:37 - " Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?"

Exchange my soul, exchange my soul for what? No one can give anything to me that would make me give away my soul. I think to exchange your soul is such a sin, a sin that i cannot even committ now. Knowing this verse. Giving away my soul would be just the same as denying God. it is not wise to give away  your soul. my soul is a gift and a blessing from God. Which i do not deserve.

You see Satan uses worldly objects, what we covet and selfishness to pull us away from God. We Christians have to be careful of what we touch, see and walk into.Mark 8:43-48 "If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. [44] [a] 45 And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. [46] [b] 47 And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where
“‘the worms that eat them do not die,
and the fire is not quenched.’[c]

What I am going to do is find a Bible verse that will help me when I feel i am going to turn away. That verse is Colossians 3:1-4 "Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory."

May these verses bless you and may you be able to apply them to your life.

" Saving Your Life the Right Way"

Mark 8:35“For whoever wants to save their life will loose it, but whoever looses their life for me and the Gospel will save it.”
This life on earth is not ours, for we are here for one purpose, and that purpose is to serve God. When we give our life to Christ, we are now His. 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8 – For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a Holy life. That means to me that Christians have to be careful, because our actions define who we are. What rules we live by, and what we believe in. God has Christian radar.                                   1 Thessalonians 4:8 – “ Therefore anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who give you His Holy Spirit.” So when the world or a person tries to tempt me and you from living a Holy life ( meaning to do behavior that is not pleasing to God) we are going to say “NO”, and God is going to honor that . But when you say no to God, you will go down a path that is not Holy, and it is really hard to stray away from that path. Ephesians 4:1 – “As a prisoner of the Lord then I urge you to live a life worthy of a calling you have received.”
I want to loose my life for the Lord. I want to live for Him. I know it is not going to be easy, but I need to remind myself everyday that He has my best interest and has a plan for me. How I can also do this is by reading and living the life of what the Bible tells me to and how to live.

" Denying, Obeying and to Follow"

Mark 8:34- When He had called the Crowd to Him along with His disciples and said: " Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me."

This verse is talking about if you want to follow God you have to obey. It is also talking about wanting to follow God, how it is our choice. Jesus Christ does not want to force you into following God, He has the power to but He does not. Jesus Christ allows it to be our will to follow Him, even though how much He loves us and does not want to be seperated from us. But He allows us to make the descision for ourselves. So it is our free will to follow God.

To follow God, we have to deny ourselves. We cannot hold onto our sinful ways and follow God at the same time. It will be just like living a lie, we will be consider hypocrites. We have to understand that we are no longer in controll of our lives, that we do not know better , that we know ourselves better, and that God does not know better. God is our creator first of all He knitted us in our mothers womb, He knows our likes and dislikes, He knows are strengths and weaknesses and He knows what is better for us. So yes God knows, we cannot hear what God want's unless our hearts are opened to Him and we deny ourselves of our sinful ways.

James 4:6 " But He gives us more grace. That is why scripture says:

                                      " God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble."

How I can apply this verse to my life is to deny myself when I think I know better than God. So I need to sit down and pray to God and see how He wants me to serve Him and live my life in this sinful world. I just have to give the day to God. Here is the prayer that I will pray every morning.

                                                    Our Father in Heaven,
                                                       hallowed be thy name,
                                                       your kingdom come,
                                                       your will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
                                                           And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our
                                                                                  debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the
                                                                     power and the glory forever
                                                                                      amen.

May These Verses Bless you and may you be able to apply them to your lives as well.

" Committment"

Act 2:46 -  " Eveyday continue to meet together in the templecourts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts." (NIV)

The new believers are enjoying their new walk with God, with great joy. They repented and were baptized together. They are now always together eating, praying and ministring together. They are committed to eachother, they are committed to God, and committed to doing His will or what He willed them to do. They now have formed the act of committment.

How im going to apply this to my life is to always remember the new walk with God. How God gave me the biggest blessing of my life . So without His blessing I would not  be here. God is committed to me , Ineed to be committed to Him, because He is my heavenly Father and my Savior. Colosian 4:2 -  " Devote yourself to prayer being watchful and thankful to God."

May these verses bless you, and may you be able to apply them to your lives as well.

" To Give to be Unselfishness"

Acts 2:45 -  " They sold property and possesions to give to anyone who had a need."   (NIV)

The new believers started to become unselfish. They were giving things away so they can have the finacles for there new walk with faith in Jesus Christ. They knew now that their faith in Jesus Christ was important, more important than their old life. They were not worrried about anything meaning: a house, jewlry, money and food etc. They new believer had the scrolls for their food, the new believers met in the temple everyday together which that was their home. So they were not starving or cold, because they were being filled with the word of God and His teachings. Matthew 5:16 -  "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may seey your good deeds and glorify your glory in heaven."

How i am going to apply this to my life is that i need to discipline my hear, my eyes and my desires to serve God. That is what they should be only used for. I also want to learn to give up some things that give me pleasure. Because when you serve God you only need certain things.

May these verses bless you, and may you be able to apply them to your lives as well.

" Joy of Fellowship"

Acts 2:44 -  " All the believers were together and had many things in common." ( NIV)

God puts people together for a reason, He put the apostles together for a reason.God put me in Montana with my brothers and sisters in Christ for a reason. We have some things in common : we LOVE God, we WANT to know how we can use our lives for GOD, how to LIVE by the Bible for the REst of our LIVES. Every single time we eat, pray . we are haveing fellowship, we are keeping accountability for one another. Galations 5: 13-18 - " You my brothers and my sisters were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh: rather serve one another humbly on love. For the entire law is keeping this one command. (" Love your neighbor as yourself").  If you bite and devour eachother , watch or you will be destroyed by eachother."

How I can apply this to my life is by using my time wisely everyday. When i know something is wrong pray to God for help but also seek the help of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

May these verses bless you, and may you be able to apply them to your lives as well.
